The first Thursday of every month, the Concord Farragut Republican Club meets at the Fruition Cafe located at 129 West End Avenue in Farragut. This past Thursday Knox County Criminal Court Judge Scott Green was the Speaker.

There are three Knox County Criminal Court Judges. Green talked about the efforts of Judge Steve Sword, Judge Bob McGee and himself to speed up the criminal justice system. The are scheduling hearings three days a week now and there have been times that as they have been having jury trials in two courts that they have lacked enough jurors to have a third trial.

Also, at the meeting Property Assessor Candidate John Whitehead attended and is beginning to build his grassroots organization to run for the position in 2016. Whitehead has spent the past eight years helping individuals and property owners defend the value of their property by the counties that assess the property incorrectly. He has experience as an Assessor and has now seen both sides of the property assessment experience.

Also, Manuela Ptacek President of the Knox County Republican Women’s Club announced the next meeting of the Women’s Club. They meet on the 2nd Thursdays of each month at Chick-fil-A – Homberg, 4944 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919. ‘Food & Fellowship” at 6pm and hear our speakers at 6:45. The next meeting is Thursday April 9, Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett will be the April program.
