The news last week here that Knoxville Entrepreneur Troy Whiteside has reached a deal with special prosecutor and will appear before a Judge on May 28 has me perplexed. How an incident from August 2009 could end this way in 2015?
You see, I have known Troy Whiteside for over 20 years. Whiteside is a husband to Jacqueline and father to two boys. One son is a graduate of Centre College and the youngest will be a freshman this fall at Cornell. Whiteside has never had a violation, a ticket, a DUI anything prior to this incident and never anything since the 2009 incident. How many people can enjoy such a clean record?
It is my intent to reach out to the U.S. Attorneys office along with the ATF next week asking to review the files in hopes of finding out what has gone so wrong to bring Whiteside to this fate. So, stay tuned.

Columnist Victor Ashe of Shopper News and the former Mayor of Knoxville wrote about Whiteside in 4 columns over the past 14.5 months. What agenda does Ashe have to be continually publish negative stories about slow justice toward Whiteside? Why would Ashe’s Editor and Publisher condone such consistent negative banter?

Unrelated to the incident but proof that the Whiteside family has worked to improve East Knoxville.
