There Will Be a Contested Knox County Law Director Race in 2016

Incumbent Knox County Law Director Richard “Bud” Armstrong will face a strong challenge in the March 1, 2016 Republican Primary.

Experienced Knoxville Attorney Nathan D Rowell has named a Treasurer and my sources indicate campaign contributions are rolling in for a challenge to the incumbent. The bio at his firms website says After clerking for two appellate judges, Nathan Rowell began practicing with the Firm in 1997, and became a partner in 2003. He concentrates his practice on governmental and medical malpractice defense.

Mr. Rowell is actively involved in the profession and the community. He is a 2006 graduate of the Tennessee Bar Association’s Leadership Law program. He served on the Editorial Board of the Tennessee Bar Journal for ten years, and is a Fellow of the Young Lawyers Division and the Tennessee Bar Foundation. He is also involved with the Knoxville Bar Association, serves as past president of the Wesley House Community Center, serves on the Board of Directors of the Community School of the Arts and is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Church Street United Methodist Church.

Mr. Rowell is an AV rated lawyer by Martindale – Hubbell.

Rowell graduated with a B.S. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1991 and the University of Tennessee College of Law, Knoxville in 1995.
