Former Knoxville Mayor Victor Ashe is a weekly columnist with the News Sentinel owned weekly Shopper News. He calls persons gathering information as a journalist. However, he is on the host list for a reception / fundraiser for State Rep. Jason Zacahry. It is pretty clear that this is a violation of Journalist Code of Ethics.
Is Publisher Patrick Birmingham scared of delegating to the Shopper Editor Sandra Clark the task for addressing this to the former Mayor?
