This article from today’s News Sentinel states Mark Goins, TN Election Coordinator has given his opinion. For the record, Goins is right. The Knox County Charter is silent on a vacancy of the Knox County Law Director. Anyone that reads the Knox County Charter can figure this out. Goins is a lawyer. But come on, he is to oversee 95 counties and the third largest county in the state can’t figure out the law. So, if Chris Heagerty and Bob Bowman both members of the five member Knox County Election Commission can not read, comprehend and interpret the Knox County Charter. Maybe the Knox County legislators should replace them and select election commissioners that can. Just a thought.
