As Mrs. Osteen tells the story of her life, the story of her healing from cancer and the life of Pastor John Osteen, you get a glimpse at the man that began Lakewood. Osteen was raised before and during the Great Depression. He discovered the Power of the Holy Spirit during ministry and after Seminary. The church he began met in a feed store that sat 234 people.
Reading the stories of the man John Osteen and the Pastor John Osteen was instrumental and spoke to me. How Satan attacked him with fear and how Pastor Osteen in walking with God overcame that fear and became victorious over the attack is worth the read.
The story of the mail bomb intended for Pastor Osteen, but how God kept him home and how his daughter Lisa the victim was carried through the bombing and healed of it is worth the read.
The story of the teacher and a student Ted Stoddard is a worthy lesson for us all. The appendix sections of Scriptures will be useful for future references.
