The Knox County Board of Equalization is back in session. In the basement of the old Knox County Courthouse. The Board of Equlization is the board where if you object to your property appraisal/assessment you appear before them and they rule against you or in favor of you. They are the first step in the appeal process.
During the January-March 2016 Republican primary for Knox County Property Assessor there was much talk about all the errors during the last seven years of Ballard/Weaver regime. So, here’s hoping the board is busy.
Oh and by the way, Archie Johnson, the campaign finance chairman for Jim Weaver (the loser to John R Whitehead) is Chairman of the Board of Equalization. The actions of the Board in conjunction with contributors of Weaver and the actions of the board in regard to contributors of Whitehead and the other candidate Andrew Graybeal could be an interesting project in examining the final days of the Ballard regime.
