Doesn't Mr. Hutchinson live in Blount County? I seem to recall that it was a point of contention at one time while he was sheriff. Also, does the office require that Mayor actually live inside Knoxville city limits? I'm asking because I don't know.
All other things being equal I think he'd be OK, depends on who his opponent is/will be.

The Sheriff does not have to live in Knoxville. They must live in KNOX COUNTY. Sheriff Hutchison has always lived in Knox County. For many years he has lived in Northwest Knox County.
What you are recalling is when the Big Metal Shed on the Hill talked about his weekend cabin in Sevier County, However, when they printed a map showing where the cabin was located on the front page of the bird cage liner his family never felt safe and I don't believe they have used it and may have gotten rid of it.
Hutchison joins Tim Burchett, State Senator who has previously announced and launched his campaign. It will be a competitive race.
