As candidates for Knox County Elective Offices began picking up nominating petitions on Friday. We decided to research the appointment of Treasurer status and report our findings.
The law allows a candidate to appoint themselves as Treasurer and the following candidates have done just that.
Fred Sisk, Trustee
Richard M. Briggs, Fifth District Commissioner
Brad Anders, Sixth District Commissioner
Tammy Sommers, Ninth District School Board
The following candidates have appointed close family relatives.
Foster Arnett, County Clerk appointed Stephen Arnett
Sam McKenzie, First District Commissioner appointed someone identified as Sam McK.(wonder if Greg MacKae will research this one?)The signatures appear to both belong to Samue
Michele Carringer, Seventh District Commissioner appointed her Mother Irene McCrary.
