The Republican Primary for Knox County Property Assessor was March 1, 2016. There was no Democrat challenger on August 4 to the Republican nominee John R. Whitehead. The old rejected Phil Ballard / Jim Weaver regime left at 11:59:59 pm on August 31, 2016.
So imagine the surprise in the property assessor office when inter office envelopes were discovered with labels that must have been created before March 1. Apparently using labels and work time to create them before the votes were counted.
At least they had the Assessing down because Assessor is spelled correctly. That Property part was a bit more challenging, apparently.
