With America’s rejection of Hillary Clinton, Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero who was rumored and expected to leave Knoxville mid way through her last year of service as Mayor to join a President Hillary Clinton administration will now be able to complete her term as Mayor.
City of Knoxville Elections are in 2017. Knoxville Mayor, City Council positions in District 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 are all up. All of the incumbents are term limited. So, lets throw some names on that wall and see if any stick.
Mayor – City Councilman at Large George C. Wallace, City Councilman First District Nick Pavlis and City Councilman at Large Marshall Stair. Prestige Cleaners CEO Ed Mannis. Rumors persist that Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett has been encouraged to consider the position by a well financed funding source.
City Council First District – South Knoxville business and Entrepreneur Josh Ward, former Knox County Commission candidate James Brandon Hamilton
City Council Second District – Former City Council candidate and Pond Gap Community Activist David Williams
City Council Third District – Former State Representative candidate James Corcoran, Former Knox County Commissioner Ivan Harmon.
City Council Fourth District – Former State Representative Harry Tindell
City Council Sixth District – Former County Commission candidate Michael Covington.
The City of Knoxville Primary election will be late August (if last night’s city charter amendment passed) or late September (if it didn’t) with the General election in November 2017. With the installation of new officeholders in mid December 2017.
