In tomorrow’s Shopper News former Mayor Victor Ashe details the KCDC board selecting a Memphis area man to lead KCDC over Knoxville native Alvin Nance. Interesting in reading the quotes attributed to KCDC Chairman Dan Murphy, Murphy asked for a show of hands between the two finalist, four in favor of Bentley and three in favor of Nance. Which means that Murphy as Chairman voted immediately without waiting to see if there were a majority before casting a vote. No mention in the column of Murphy’s history that during his term on Knox County School Board he rejected a local candidate for Superintendent of Schools.
