A Busy Saturday Morning

Today at 9 at the Big Metal Shed on the Hill the League of Women Voters of Knoxville/Knox County will host an annual legislative breakfast. Local Senators Dr. Richard Briggs, Becky Massey and Lt. Governor Randy McNally have been invited to participate in the question and answer session regarding legislation of the 110th Tennessee General Assembly which convened this week. A continental breakfast will be served and the event is open to the public. Come out and enjoy food and discussion with your representatives. This is a rescheduled date from last weeks inclement weather postponed event.

Also, today at 11:45 am, the ETSPJ annual Legislative Preview and Luncheon at the Bearden Banquet Hall located at 5806 Kingston Pike, next to Buddy’s BBQ. Doors will open at 11:30 a.m., serving line starts at 11:45 a.m., and we’ll get the program underway by noon.

Journalists and the public can submit questions to a panel of legislators. WATE 6 On Your Side Anchor Kristin Farley will host the luncheon.

Cost for the lunch is $15 in advance for SPJ members; $18 in advance for non-SPJ members; and $20 at the door. The event is open to the public, but reservations are required for lunch.
