So, the flu and sickness has caused Knox County Schools to close Tuesday through Friday of this week. Four days plus Saturday and Sunday is 6 days away from one another. This year Knox County government did not fund free flu shots or flu mist for the 52,000 plus Knox County Schools. It is the first time in nearly a decade that Knox County couldn’t, wouldn’t fund the flu vaccine. Thus four instructional days are lost. Knox County Commission and Knox County Mayor fund the Knox County Health Department where the vaccines came from. Will they learn from this? Doubtful, they will just keep snapping selfies of themselves at networking junkets, while letting the school kids and employees get sick.
