Knox County Mayor Was Evasive on Saturday

Sources inform me that the Knox County Mayor filed with the FEC to run for Congress on Friday . While on Saturday, at the Loudon County Republican Party Bluegrass and BBQ event when he was telling people he would announce a week later, he was being evasive. Even doing so in front of his wife and daughter. When Loudon County Commissioner Van Shaver was pushing him for a specific answer, the mayor grew agitated. The bottom line is in the Second Congressional District of Tennessee we call his evasiveness lying.

However, this campaign can well be called the “Keeping Burchett/Rice Employed”. Entrepreneur Brad Fullington is in the race. State Representative Jimmy Matlock will likely enter along with many others. If Burchett is not successful, he and his Chief of Staff/Strategist will be unemployed. Any other candidates have real jobs, which is what our Founding Fathers desired. Just like Congressman John J Duncan, Jr. when he returns home he returns to practice law and eligible to serve in Senior status as a Judge.
