In the last 12 months Knoxville has a couple websites that are attempting to copy the 13 year success of BrianHornback.Com, one even copies our layout and copied an exact ad from our website. They both posted total fake news today (at least on twitter, we have screenshots if lawyers want them).
They both reported that the former Knox County Property Assessor has picked up a petition to run for another office in Knox County. It is fake news because the Knox County Election Commission can not and will not issue qualifying petitions until November 17, 2017. I did confirm that the former elected official obtained an appointment of treasurer form but as of 3:45 pm today had NOT turned it in.
If these fake imitation sites do not recognize the difference in a qualifying petition and an appointment of treasurer form then that is shoddy workmanship. If they do not follow-up on information then that is just careless.
