A writer for a BrianHornback.Com copycat was reading and focused on my website before turning in at 2:17 am yesterday morning. Which is more disturbing to me than you can imagine. But let me address it.
To say the website was already wiped clean is a lie. Every article written about the candidates or their opponents is still on the website. Assuming she is referring to the three ads, yes, the ads were placed through the election. When the polls closed at 8:00 pm on November 7, 2017 the ads expired. They were down by 9:00 pm because my readers do not want ads that are not relevant and it is a bad business decision to allow out of date material to remain on the site.
A story was relayed to me a week or so ago about this same writer that while interviewing a candidate during the election focused a question or two on why the candidate opted to advertise on BrianHornback.Com, In My Humble Opinion, it seems a little obsessive or stalkerish but whatever.
Two of the three candidates that advertised in the General finished second in the district primary, so not much of a surprise that they lost the General election. Two of the three advertised in the primary and finished in the runoff, so the primary ads were successful.
Some of the talk about BrianHornback.Com is “Unlike every news operation in Knoxville, Brian actually covers the day to day operations of the local campaigns, he gives each campaign an opportunity to get their message out on a daily or weekly basis, without comment. As a result, the voters who read his blog are much more informed on the positions and statements of local candidates, things they can not get through other news operations in Knox County.” Said a political strategist in Knoxville.
We will keep doing what we do, because having people looking at the website at 2:17 am and/or 2:17 pm is what we do, it is a 24/7/365 operation. We gotta have something new and fresh for everyone, even our haters.
