A Knox County Sheriffs report and arrest last Monday are raising questions.
At 12:59 hours a parking lot crash was reported in the 300 block of Main Street. When the officer got there, the witness Foster Deaver Arnett, Jr. identified the car and individual driving the car that caused the accident.
The car a 1997 Ford Crown with Knox County Government Service plates and the driver when questioned by the officer appeared to be intoxicated. The suspect failed aspects of several field sobriety tests. The suspect was taken to UTMC for blood samples and was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence.
The drivers identity matches that of an employee of the Knox County purchasing department, which is under the direction of the Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett.
Dean Rice Chief of Staff for Knox County Mayor’s Office said, the employee is still employed for Knox County and is barred from driving and county vehicle and barred from driving his own vehicle on any county business.
Maybe it was his friend “bud” or it could be rural metro !
