A review of Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett‘s Senior Department Heads should reveal how he views Knox County by race and gender. Correct?
Since he has been Mayor four of the Senior Directors have less than 8 years in the position. According to Open Records supplied by Michael Grider of Burchett’s office, Finance Director Chris Caldwell and Mark Jones in HR/Risk Management began in 2012. Both are men, both are white. Robert Buswell of Veterans/Senior Services began in 2013, he is a man and is white. John Lott of the Medical Examiners office began in 2014, Lott is a man and is white. Dean Rice, Chief of Staff began then the County Mayor began, Rice is a man and is white.
The following individuals worked for the previous County Mayor and work for Burchett. Dwight Van de Vate in Engineering, Dr. Martha Buchanan of the Health Department, Richard Moran of the IT Department, Myretta Black of the Knox County Public Library, Doug Bataille of the Parks and Tara Richardson of Probation. All are white. Buchanan, Black and Richardson are females.
When Buswell was hired in 2013 his pay was less than Richardson, however the very next year his pay jumped and exceeded Richardson by $8,854.04
