South Knox you have a clear choice for Knox County School Board on May 1, Early Voting April 11-26. Four years ago the Republicans were saying the two candidates were both Democrats with no real choice. This year that is not the case.
I have received the records from the Knox County Election Commission as voting records are public record. It only identifies what elections you voted in and what party you voted in for the primaries.
Kristi Kristy is a Republican, she has voted in 7 General elections and voted in 4 Republican primaries.
Amber Rountree has voted in 13 General Elections, 3 Democrat primaries and 4 Republican primaries. Rountree voted Democrat in the February 5, 2008 Primary, this was the Obama/Hillary primary.
Rountree voted in the August 7, 2008 Democrat Primary. The contested US Senate Primary was between Mark E. Clayton, Gary G. Davis, Kenneth Eaton, Leonard D. Ladner and Wm Mike Padgett and Robert Tuke. Tuke won.
Then four years ago, Rountree voted in Democrat Primary in the August 7, 2014 the same time that she was on the General ballot for School Board. The contested Democrat Primary was for Governor, to challenge TN Governor Bill Haslam. The candidates were . Charles V. “Charlie” Brown, Kennedy Spellman Johnson , Wm. H. “John” McKamey
and Ron Noonan. Brown won and lost to Haslam.
Interesting discussion among South Knox County Republicans is Commissioner Carson Dailey’s open support for Rountree. Dailey who is a far right wing Republican is this year supporting a Democrat that likely voted for either Obama or Hillary in 2008. With the on going discussion with Republicans and Republican bonafide status, Dailey’s activity in 2018 could make for an interesting discussion when he is up again as to if his bonafide credentials are solid or NOT.
