Justin Biggs bested his opponent a former Knox County Commissioner who had more than $100,000 more dollars. Biggs had a social media presence for more than a year with weekly Facebook videos that were viewed more than 500,000 times. He had a targeted campaign utilizing websites, organizations and had the first Knox News Sentinel ad above the banner front page for three days. Biggs also was promoted on BrianHornback.Com since December.
Larsen Jay bested his opponent to become the Republican candidate for Knox County Commission at Large Seat 10.
Charlie Susano bested 4 other opponents to become the Republican candidate for Knox County Circuit Court Clerk.
Mike Hammond, Knox County Criminal Court Clerk and Ed Shouse, Knox County Trustee were unopposed. Republican Sherry Witt outperformed her opponent a former member of the TN General Assembly and will restore the Knox County Clerk’s office to a constituent service office. Republican Nick McBride won the party nomination for Knox County Register of Deeds and ensuring our documents are properly retained.
Also early tonight, before I arrived at the Crowne Plaza to meet Justin Biggs. Tom Spangler became the Republican candidate for Knox County Sheriff in a hard fought campaign that had Spangler with less money but a committed group of volunteers and former law enforcement officers. Spangler had already left the Crowne Plaza and headed back to his campaign party at a nearby hotel before I arrived at the Crowne Plaza.
