Albert Einstein is credited with saying that The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
Well, the Tennessee Democrat Party Executive Committee had their meeting today. I followed Joey Garrison of the Tennesseean newspaper tweets for my source of the facts.
First, only 41% of the Executive Committee has contributed financially to the operation of the party. That means that 59% have no monetary skin in the game. It could be construed to say that they do not put their money where their mouth is.
Second, they reelected Mary Mancini to be the Chair for a third term. A position that I learned on Wednesday pays $125,000 a year. According to TNDP Chair candidate Holly McCall is $15,000 more than the Super Majority Republican State Chairman Scott Golden.
The TN House Democrat Caucus voted to endorse McCall. So, Mancini has in essence a vote of NO CONFIDENCE from the TN State House Democrats.
The Tennessee Democrat Party only picked up one seat in the Tennessee House in November. In no way can they make progress with picking up one seat every two years. In the first half of this year, there are three Special Elections and Mancini has ONLY budgeted $50,000 for staff. NOTHING is budgeted for the candidates of the three Special Elections.
So, Tennessee will remain DEEP RED, with Democrats jumping the Mancini Titanic and swimming to the Super Majority Republican Cruise ship and they will be welcomed, IN MY HUMBLE OPINION.
The results of the Knoxville forum on Wednesday had Mancini DEAD LAST.
