Getting out of school at 4:30 would wreck after school activities. Yuck. You should post this on School Matters.
It’s a start, but that leaves about $19.5 million to cut somewhere. In Metro Nashville, they’re considering cutting the buses out of their budget and having parents who use the buses pay a fee for them. My son uses the bus to get to and from school; I’d gladly pay a fee for it rather than have the $15 million for them in our school budget.
Hey Brian!
$640k in savings, imagine what the savings would be if they moved the start and end the school year Tuesday after Labor Day and the Friday before Memorial Day. Think of the equipment , maintenance and labor cost! Reduce the number of teacher planning days and there are more savings…..reduce the central office staff and more savings…..
atleast it doesn’t cute out of the instructional time in the class. i’d rather mix up the schedule instead of losing classroom time!
