Why Do People Become Candidates WITHOUT Knowing the Rules and Laws?

We have NOT even gotten through the 2019 City of Knoxville elections and a few 2020 Knox County candidates are working and at least one is already doing things to violate campaign rules and laws.

The great news about that is it gives #TheMegaBullhornofTruth material and job security. Oh wait, this is not my sole job.

In 2020, Knox County Commissioner Brad Anders is term limited and not able to seek re-election to the Sixth District Knox County Commission Seat.

I have heard Stacy Cox of Studio Four design is considering a run. Former Anders opponent John Ashley, Former County Commissioner Ivan Harmon, School Board Member Terry Hill are all being talked about as candidates and apparently according to Facebook Robert Voigt is a candidate.

Here’s the problem with Voigt, you are not able to seek (Request) the first dollar or spend the first dollar until you appoint a Treasurer.

According to Facebook, Voigt has paid (or will pay) $200 for the first 40 customers to get $5 off on Tuesday at a local establishment. It is campaign specific, because the establishment says in the post that he is running for Knox County Commission but that it is NOT an endorsement along with a campaign logo.
