Breaking News: First District Citizen Request Knox County Law Director to Investigate Ouster for Gill

Knox County citizen and First District resident Michael Covington has sent by United States Postal Mail to Knox County Law Director Bud Armstrong a letter formally requesting an investigation into ouster for Knox County Commissioner Evelyn Gill.

The letter dated today, March 26, 2019 reads,

Law Director Armstrong,

The recent settlement of a lawsuit alleging that former Knox County teacher and current District 1 Knox County Commissioner Evelyn Gill violated a student’s civil rights, referred to the child as being “as sorry as a kindergartner” and repeatedly picked his desk up with him in it only to slam the desk on the floor while also causing the child’s head to slam on to the desk is an absolute disgrace! Knox County should immediately take steps to remedy this situation by any and all means available to the County Commission and the Law Director’s office. What Mrs. Gill is alleged to have done is at the very least, simple assault, but also a serious violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Mrs. Gill, by her actions has shown that she lacks the character and temperament needed to function effectively in her current role with the County.

It is with the aforementioned circumstances in mind that I formally request as a citizen of Knox County and a resident of County Commission District 1, that you initiate an Ouster investigation to determine if a reccomendation to the County Commission for Mrs. Gill’s ouster is found to be the appropriate remedy for her transgressions that are an embarrassment to Knox County and in particular an embarrassment to the citizens of District 1.

Your attention to this request is greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Michael Covington
