68th SASEF Southern Appalachian Science and Engineering Fair this Week

This week, Thompson Boling Arena became home to the Regional Southern Appalachian Science and Engineering Fair. I have served on the Board of SASEF for 15 years.

Thursday night, monetary awards and trophies were handed out. Over 160 student(s) exhibits were presented. The Senior (high school aged) Grand Prize winner is given an all expensed paid trip this year to Phoenix, AZ for the Intel International Science Fair. The winner from last years SASEF, won first place in Medical at the Intel ISEF last year.

The SASEF Board honored Julie Werner, the Fair Manager for over 20 years, who is retiring this year from the fair.
