Knox County Hit With a Lawsuit, Will Bud Write a Check?

The daily paper’s website has a story about two former Knox County IT employees that have filed a lawsuit and are claiming that they are  whistleblowers and terminated before Mayor Glenn Jacobs became Mayor.

The story of the lawsuit, reminded me of the story about Chris Caldwell and an employee of Knox County for a year or so.

A finance employee that Caldwell admitted that he had signed time sheets on the employees behalf. here is the link to a story about the employees departure in May 2018.

It is my understanding that the employee who the article stated did work for Finance and IT was sent to IT from January until his resignation in May 2018. During this same time (early 2018) that the employee was assigned to IT, I understand that Chris Caldwell had a longtime finance employee  retire and Caldwell transferred Zach Webb’s wife from another department to the Finance Department to fill the position of the longtime retired employee.

After Mayor Jacobs became Mayor, September 2018, I open record requested all work product and emails of the former employee and Rob Link, Knox County Mayor Communications Manager provided me a statement from Zach Webb that the computer was scrubbed at his termination, it certainly did not seem right at the time as the county has a Records Rention Policy. but I accepted it as is.

Is all this connected or not. I can not say and would NOT even begin to guess if it is or not.
