Also on Saturday July 8, 2018 we stopped in Franklin, TN at Leipers Fork Distillery along the TN Whiskey Trail. Leipers Fork make an Old Natchez Trace White Whiskey and a Colonel Hunter’s Select Barrel Tennessee Bourbon Whiskey.
Leipers Fork make 8 – 10 barrels per week of bourbon and Tennessee whiskey that will not see the light of day for 5 – 7 years. These whiskeys will eventually be released under our flagship, Leiper’s Fork Distillery brand. Our bourbon will be wheated in nature with the expected soft wheat and sweet corn typical of this style. Our Tennessee whiskey will have a rye component and using the famed Lincoln County process, will be filtered through layers of sugar maple charcoal giving it a smooth finish.
This past weekend, I bought some coffee beans that the beans were aged in used Leipers Fork barrels. The coffee is good.
