The TN Legislature this year made a change on who can marry you and yours after July 1, 2019. The legislature in “their wisdom” has changed the law that if you get married on or after July 1, 2019 the pastor can NOT be one that was ordained through an online ordination agency.
But in the legislatures wisdom, they have now included themselves and any one that has been a legislator as a marrying official.
Please forgive my sarcasm, but I would likely prefer an online ordained minister than one of them there political creatures from the legislative swamp or one that once was a wooly creature of the legislative swamp.

*for the record, I married my love more than 31 years ago, so this law won’t affect me. I sympathize with anyone else that marries their love after July 1, 2019.
