I’ve been involved in politics along time, I started working in my first campaign in 1982. I don’t remember when I first met Bill Vaughan, but it was an immediate friendship.
Bill and Judy were always smiling and happy. Bill was always busy and was a friend and trusted advisor to Rep. John J. (Jimmy) Duncan, Jr. Vaughan was one of golfing foursome at Holston Hills Country Club on a weekly basis. Former Knoxville City Councilman Larry Cox, Moxley Carmichael Owner Allen Carmichael, Rep. Jimmy Duncan and Vaughan.
Vaughan was a reporter at the former Knoxville Journal. He was Press Secretary for Rep. Jimmy Quillen of TN First District. He worked in the administration of Governor Winfield Dunn. His longtime friend Ron McMahan and he began a Government Relations firm. McMahan passed in 2008.
