Several Knox County Commissioners wanted a study on the Knoxville Center last night. It was apparently obvious to Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs that there was some momentum to do something to help the mall that has struggled for more than a decade.
As he in almost real “bully” form fashion to the fictional character that Jacobs has played in WWE skits, they Mayor rose and declared he would VETO it. Veto a study!
What has happened that has caused the appearance of the Mayor joining with Knox County Risk Management Employee/Commissioner Randy Smith, Knoxville/Knox County 911 Director/Commissioner Brad Anders and West Knox Commissioners Nystrom and Jay to body slam a study to benefit East Knoxville with a VETO?
What has East Knoxville done to deserve continuing to be the downtrodden, ignored part of Knoxville and Knox County?
It is a part of all of Knoxville and KNOX COUNTY.
I’ve had it with this phony Ragsdale pawn. When Glenn ran he told me personally that East Towne Mall was perfect to move Knox County Government to. He also preached about a new Vo-Tech school.
Now he says he will veto a study to look at buying East Towne Mall before it turns into mush. This is where the Vo-Tech school will go. A lot of talk but no action. This guy is Ragsdale 2.0.
I saw him after he was elected and he didn’t know my name. Had no idea we had talked before. Don’t be fooled. This is another fake Hollywood celeb.
If that is not bad enough, I saw Mike Ragsdale and Bryan Hair sitting next to each other at the UT game.
Heard on the radio today all of Knoxville Center Mall is for sale for $18 million. Mayor Glenn needs to get with the program. The TVA Tower may have been an idea a couple years ago. It isn’t now.
Stop holding up progress Mayor.
Did you know Mayor Jacobs wants Metro Government? I didn’t until a friend sent me this;

Mayor Jacobs is in court at 9:30 this morning for defrauding the taxpayers with the Sheriff’s pension. We’ll see if the celebrity persona will protect him in court.
