WVLT posted this story that Knoxville is a top concert city for 2020. I know there’s a lot of effort to prop up the quasi governmental entity Visit Knoxville. BUT, this naming of Knoxville as a top concert city is by the third largest ticket reseller according to this Wikipedia.
A concert ticket reseller is frowned upon by most artist like Eric Church and others. The company is making money by acquiring tickets and reselling them and making their money on the profits from the up selling. It is the reason most artist limit the number of tickets purchased in one transaction.
What is the Cause and Effect?
Is alcohol sales at concerts on the UTK campus NOW more attractive to ticket resellers? The TN Legislature in 2019 made alcohol sales permissible at events at Thompson Boling Arena and the recent Neyland Stadium Garth Brooks concert. At the Brooks concert there were multiple under age beer sales, ticketed and cited to court, read it here.
