Knox County Commission Chair Hugh Nystrom shocked political insiders when it was announced (first on #TheMegaBullhornofTruth) that he would not seek a second four year term.
So the machine candidate, the insider candidate, the establishment candidate is a guy named Scott Broyles. His employment has been with an entity named Safe Skies Alliance, an entity that I’ve been told the revenue was generated from the Congressional Appropriations process, which until the Republicans gained control of the US House of Representatives and shut down appropriations years ago, because it was believed Appropriations was a way to award graft. When that changed, Safe Skies began receiving their funds through grants.
Now, Broyles has flirted with elected office before, once as a possible School Board Member and four years ago as County Commission. But he opted out in support of Nystrom, over newly elected Knoxville City Councilwoman at large Janet Testerman.
So now people say it is Broyles time, finally. BUT, not so fast!
Enter fourth district business enterprenuer Kyle Ward, a military veteran (with distinguished successful overseas assignments) He and his wife of 5 years have made their home and Business, Ward Waste Solutions in Knox County.
Who better to represent the Fourth District than a man that has built his business that serves more than 2,500 families every week. A man whose business provides a life for he and his wife and 6 other families. Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs needs more business entrepreneur minded partners, not folks from the non profit world, whose answer is another taxpayer funded check.
By the end of January Ward and his campaign team will have reached more than 5,000 fourth district doors and will not stop until March 3, 2020 on the night of the Republican Primary and will gear up immediately to ensure the position remains Conservative on August 6 in besting a Democrat challenger.
