For readers that have been around #TheMegaBullhornofTruth know that for a season (period of time) John and Donna Avant were my Pastors when they served at First Baptist Concord.
Early on in their tenure at Concord, John and I communicated and it wasn’t always great, we did build a great relationship with he being the leader and me being a “problem“ sheep. (my self described term) I would always thank him, express my opinion and we would carry on.

As John and Donna were called to Life Action away from First Baptist Concord, it was tough on me. This was one of the most authentic Pastor/Member relationships I had experienced in a very long time. If I disagreed with John on a position or opinion, I didn’t bolt for a friendlier location (church), I believed God called me to Concord in 1993 and had not called me to leave. I believed God had called John and Donna to Concord, which meant he called us all there for a season. Although, I felt our season was ending prematurely, My wife and I chose to partner with John and Donna at Life Action.
The Avant’s have continued to lead and direct the Life Action teams. On March 3, 2020 they released a book Yes, Changes Everything. A book where all the proceeds benefit Life Action. Amazon sold out in the first days of availability.
The timing of the release of this book has not been lost on me. As we have fear and uncertainty with COVID19 or Coronavirus, it is important to stay focused on God. Saying Yes to God changes Everything. DO NOT be mistaken that I suggest this book will keep you from illness. Saying YES to an authentic relationship with God will prepare you for whatever comes into your life.
