The 2018 Democrat challenger Colleen Martinez had taken a petition, however due to family and other educational concerns, she has withdrawn. There is a real possibility that Heather Hensley, the 2016 challenger to Rep. Roger Kane and a Member of the Knox County Democrat Party Board of Governors representing Knox County’s Third District.

The qualifying deadline is Noon on Thursday April 2, to get a petition and secure 25 qualified district signatures and turn it in, have the 25 signatures confirmed by the Knox County Election Commission. The qualifying withdrawal deadline is Noon on Thursday April 9.
