(Greeneville, TN) – Today, Tennessee State Representative David Hawk (R-5, Greene County) officially launches his campaign website “David Hawk for Tennessee”, in the race to replace retiring Tennessee 1st District Congressman Phil Roe.
“Every other candidate in the Republican Primary has intently chosen to title their campaign name as running “for Congress” or “to Congress”. I have purposefully told voters that I am running ‘for Tennessee’,” Hawk said. “United States Congress has an approval rating of 22%. I want to bring Tennessee to Washington, not fall in line with dysfunctional Congress.”
Tennessee’s 1st Congressional District consists of all or parts of twelve counties in east and northeast Tennessee from Johnson County in the northeast, to Hancock County in the northwest and Sevier County in the southwest.
“Tennesseans should be placed at the forefront of this campaign, not Congress. My campaign will prioritize citizens, just as I have done throughout my 18 years of service to our Tennessee General Assembly,” said Hawk. “Our campaign website can be accessed through www.davidhawkfortennessee.com.”
Early voting for this election will begin on July 17, 2020 and continue until August 1, 2020. Election Day for Tennessee’s 1st Congressional District Republican Primary will be August 6, 2020, in conjunction with Tennessee County General Elections and State and Federal Primaries.
