Early Voting for the Knox County General Election and Tennessee State and Congressional Primaries is already underway. Right at two weeks are left before the August 6th election (November is going to be a barn burner, no pun intended). I continue to field calls about nearly every office on the ballot.
To say that some folks are unaware or unsure about who to support would be an understatement. It ranges from, Why was the Presidents name on the Ballot? to, Is the Knox County GOP stock piling weapons and ammunition?
In all fairness, in a County of 271,925 registered voters. I can say with some degree of certainty there are less than 10 that spend as much time running around Republican Party Politics as I do. I am not being braggadocios, as a Retired Navy Veteran and having more than enough time and interest, I spend the better part of every week of the year, attending public meetings, and interacting with thousands of people engaged in the political process.
Let me me get right to my point. (Brevity is not my strong suit) I am a conservative, always have been. I believe government must live within its means and reduce its impact on the public’s every day life. Let those closest to us decide for ourselves (self govern). Because it matters.
If you live in Knox County in the 18th State Legislative District and have not yet headed to the polls because you are unsure of who to vote for and are looking for some sound advice. Here it is. Eddie Mannis while a wise philanthropic business man is by no stretch of the imagination a member of the Knox County Republican Party, nor is he a conservative.
