Yesterday it was announced that Regal Cinemas is closing all theaters in the United States. Read it here.
Now remember when Knoxville & Knox County provided corporate welfare for Regal to move their headquarters from the north Knox County community of Halls to the South of the River.
Those jobs were to spark revitalization of South Knoxville. A lot of apartments and businesses are under construction. Will this now leave the taxpayers on the hook and a ghost town of South Knox?
GREAT…… (sarcasm rich)
The ghost of Bill Lyons still haunts Knoxville. Add this to University Commons, Cumberland Avenue destruction, and Recode,
Ole Bill was supposedly a conservative Republican. Turns out he was a wild Progressive who killed Knoxville. Good luck with Recode suckers. Now watch your property tax bill explode.
