Early in October, I attended a sun-shine meeting with County Commissioners Dr. Dasha Lundy and Kyle Ward. The discussion between them was about supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I told them I would handle that.
I went to Knoxville’s Prestige Cleaners and bought 15 masks for the Commission and staff and donated them to the Commissioners. It was $12 each, far below their daily allowed gift. Also, Prestige donates the net proceeds to Breast Cancer Advocacy.
I am proud of the Commissioners that stood to be photographed in support of Breast Cancer survivors and in honor of those that have fallen to the disease.
It is personally important to me as my wife’s family has been greatly impacted by the disease.
My regret is that one Commissioner did not stand for the photograph.
