Six members of the Knox County Commission passed on first reading to make the Knox County Board of Health advisory. The second reading will be on the fourth Monday of January 2021.
The real damage is the relationship between Commissioner Larsen Jay and Commissioner Carson Dailey, there was an exchange where Jay made reference to Dailey, Vice Chair John Schoonmaker, Kyle Ward, Justin Biggs and Knox County Law Director David Buuck excluding Commissioner Randy Smith who was also in the City County Building. When Dailey responded back to Jay. Jay gestured with his hand, unclear what the gesture was. However, I will likely go back and review it.
A vote of no confidence in the Chair would have been likely, had the Board of Health vote NOT been the last item on the agenda and it was 12:45 am on Tuesday 12/21/2020 after the Commission meeting had begun at 5:00 pm on Monday 12/20/2020.
Again, I don’t have an opinion on the BOH. I do believe in wearing a mask and all the other things that make up the 5 Core Actions. I follow governmental actions and report it to you. It is a lot better than watching the main event of a BIG WWE event.
What if Jason Zachary’s Bill #0007, SB #0015 passes? https://legiscan.com/TN/bill/HB0007/2021
Oh…but that is State law again, correct?
Who does the County Commission think they are kidding?
And then…..what if it does NOT pass?
Has the County Commission overstepped its authority in making the BOH an “advisory board”? Can they do that by law even?
Larsen Jay is the worst.
