Yesterday was a celebration of life for young Michael Paseur. I first met Paseur when he worked for Knox County Clerk Mike Padgett. Then I really got to know him in 2010 when Debbie Cole ran against the Clerk that terminated Michael for obviously political reasons, in my opinion.
The termination in 2008 didn’t stop Michael he went to work for the City of Knoxville. I have had more than one man tell me that Michael was a great sounding board and giver of advice to them when they ended up as co-parents or single fathers to their kids.
In 2018, when Sherry Witt became the Knox County Clerk Paseur became Chief Deputy. A few months ago, he was diagnosed with cancer. On Wednesday March 10, 2021 he entered the Gates of Heaven. Yet, another example of that Billy Joel song, ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG!
I will miss you Michael! Thanks for being my friend and Everyone else’s as well. Here is a story from 2015 that I had written about my friend.
JUST DAMN!
