A week ago, June 14 the Roane County Commission met to appoint a Commissioner to fill a vacant seat due to a Commissioner having resigned. They appointed Greg Ferguson, a former County Commissioner and brother to Roane County Road Superintendent Dennis Ferguson. You can watch the June 14 meeting here or below. The Commission voted to waive the twelve day rule, only Ferguson was nominated and he was voted unanimously to replace Allen Hickman.

Ferguson was the subject of some news back a few years ago, according to the Roane County News in March 2015 he was arrested for DUI, cited for failure to wear seat belt and insurance violation here and here.Five months later Roane County District Attorney Russell Johnson dismissed the DUI charge, here.
