Tomorrow will be like most every second Monday in July. The West Knox Republican Club will have its annual famous picnic and cake auction. I have been going for at least 10 years, I can post that (with certainty) because a Facebook memory presented me today with a picture from 10 years ago of Property Assessor John Whitehead and myself at the one ten years ago. I am sure I have been going for 25 plus years, as I was elected to the Knox County School Board more than 20 years ago.
Anyway, the picnic is tomorrow at Rothchild Catering and Conference Center (so it doesn’t matter if it is storming or 110 degrees outside). A slight change this year, it cost $10 per person for the bountiful picnic feast. But bring some more money or a checkbook because there will be a cake auction.
So, I will be there to see if the keyboard warriors that have been negative toward some of the membership (posting toward the commenters and the current President of WKRC) show up or will they stay away and simply stick to the safety of the dark rooms and wifi internet access. Maybe a certain online writer of another online news source (not Compass, KnoxViews or #TheMegaBullhornofTruth) will show up and see if the President of West Knox Republican Club really is “down loe and mean.”
