Did the Loudon County, TN Commission Surpass Knox County Commissions 2007 “Black Wednesday”?

Loudon County Commission meeting last night had a rezoning of farm land where Cook Bros. Homes was prepared to build a Planned Unit Development(s). There was some opposition and the public hearing before the vote lasted more than an hour. A member of the Loudon County Planning Commission even defending the Planning Commission during the public hearing.

The first vote was 6-4 in favor of the development, after much questioning, particularly from Commissioner Adam Waller of Commissioner David Meers and Chairman Henry Cullen it threw everything into chaos.

Ultimately, the County Mayor Buddy Bradshaw stepped out of the meeting and utilized a “call a lawyer”, Knoxville Lawyer Bob Bowman is the county’s legal counsel and does not attend Commission meetings. He is not elected and I am sure Loudon County does not wanna pay him to sit through Commission meetings. But last night the cost of Bowman being present would have been minimal to what the cost could ultimately be when this ends up in litigation.

Commissioner Harold Duff asked out loud (during the revote) how he was suppose to vote. This was ugly and it was called ugly by several Commissioners and Mayor Bradshaw during the meeting.
