Sources indicate that all Knox County Convenience Centers were closed today, a Wednesday September 15, 2021. It has been occurring every three months, once a quarter. No advance notice on the website.
According to my source, Knox County Solid Waste Director Drew Thurman is closing the centers one day a quarter, “to do deep cleaning”. It is trash!
But advance notice would be nice, maybe through a media advisory, maybe a sign at the center to explain the closure. Of course if you want to complain the Solid Waste website directs you send an email or call the Solid Waste office.
You think Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs gets forwarded the unhappy comments? NOT LIKELY! You can contact the Mayor’s Constituent Service Department, here or the Knox County Commissioners, here, requesting that the Convenience Centers be more taxpayer friendly and conscious.
