The Title is Misleading as Hell, Chancellor Williams Was Not picking sides in a game on the Playground

The News-Herald out of Loudon County caught my attention this week with a headline “Judge sides with Hurley’s claims”. I am confident that Chancellor Frank V. Williams was NOT picking sides for a game on the school playground. in fact he was ruling on what was legally right and wrong.

Former TN State Representative, Former Republican State Executive Committeewoman and Loudon County Commissioner Julia Hurley only one of two females (but the fiercest and most independent one) on the Loudon County Commission faced a lawsuit by the Loudon County Commission Chairman Henry Cullen. I’ve been told Cullen along with many other members brought this investigation and suit against Hurley back pre-COVID in 2019.

In the trial First, TBI Special Agent Luke Webb testified he could not recall if he recorded Loudon County Trustee Chip Miller. It seems from what I’ve heard and read (I was not at the trial) that the recording was introduced in the trial. Also, during cross examination, Webb acknowledged he did not check Hurley’s drivers license, voting registration and credit reports.

Check out this News Channel 5 story about Agent Webb and others with family connections to getting hired over veterans and more qualified individuals at the TBI.

Sure was hoping former KPD Police Chief NOW TBI Director David Rausch would have cleaned some of this up. BUT whatever.

Now, about Loudon County Commission and their propensity for losing lawsuits, How about the one of former Loudon County elected official Lisa Niles and the salary suit to fund her office. It went on for 5 years, from 2014 until 2019 and was dismissed.

Now, they lose Hurley’s residency issue.

Next up is the Cook Brothers Construction lawsuit (if it hasn’t been filed yet, I am told it will be) It is where the Commission voted on a land development in Greenback, initially  passing it by a majority vote, but then Commissioner Adam Waller asking Commissioner Satterfield what he thought he was voting on after much discussion and Mayor Buddy Bradshaw had a few moments of call the County Attorney, they voted NOT to approve the development. As one who watched that meeting, if I were a betting man, I would say Cook Brothers will win the third case.

At what point will the voters get tired of the Commission going to court and losing?
