State Rep. Jason Zachary always talks about not accepting mandates or laws from outside of us, “we the people”. The soundbite sounds good, until you contrast and compare his talk.
Take for example this unedited recording of his two minute twenty second talk on March 3, 2022 at the Concord Farragut Republican Club. Just after begging for money for a California law firm, filing a motion he said, “I can’t explain”.
Then he talked about working with Farragut Town Administrator David Smoak and Farragut Mayor Ron Williams on short term rentals in the town and then wants to screw them on regulating highway advertisements. He said the legislature has a bill to “allow ALL these billboards on Kingston Pike to become digital”, overriding the Town of Farragut’s ordinance, he quickly said he is fighting it. Next week will tell the truth, will he do another school voucher flip, voting against it, before he voted for it between a 45 minute pause in the vote?
