On Sunday night March 20, 2022 (Monday morning 3/21 the clock started ticking) I requested through an Open Records Request the personnel file for KCSO Officer Tim Stidham. I’ve been told he was put on leaveTuesday or Wednesday March 15 or 16, 2022. KCSO has 7 days to respond to my OR request. No word yet (3/26/2022) from KCSO on MY request.
But WBIR on 3/25/2022 the day after Sheriff Tom Spangler recorded a thirty minute Inside TN episode with his Republican opponent Sheriff Jimmy JJ Jones has a story by John North about Stidham being on paid leave pending an investigation and references Stidham’s personnel file (so I assume North has the personnel file that I too requested).
It is interesting that the Office of Professional Standards needs so long to investigate when the “rumor” of the offense is pretty much a slam dunk for termination and charges, if the rumored allegation (I’ve been told) is true and if is true is easily confirmed.
Where is the openness and transparency Spanky?
Also, on Sunday March 20, 2022 I open record requested the number of Narcan doses dispensed. I have received an answer that is a head scratcher.
I did not ask for the identity of the individuals receiving Narcan, as that is a violation of HIPPA and privacy rights. I simply wanna know how many doses they have given. Knox Sheriff does not have it. So the Sheriff is NOT keeping records of medications dispensed?
I have been told Knox Sheriffs Office dispenses more Narcan than a pharmacy can supply. In addition, the media have reported that an individual died on March 23rd in a KCSO van after being found unresponsive. Was the person responsive when placed in the van? Did they overdose while in KCSO custody? Was KCSO out of Narcan? Answers are needed but information isn’t available. Because KCSO does not have it or is withholding it.
I guess I will need an Attorney to file a suit in Knox County Chancellor John Weaver’s court like Meghan Conley did in order to get the information.
Where is the medical protocol for dispensing medications? Where is the openness and transparency?
