Governor Bill Lee MUST Condemn the Comments Made By Arn Concerning Tennessee Educators

Ok, I normally do not step into the water of news stories that every other media has covered. I like Governor Bill Lee personally and most of his actions I do not oppose. Before he was a candidate for Governor, I was the first person to video record a speech of the Governor at the Red Lobster in West Knoxville as he spoke to the West Knox Republican Club. Here is one of the many parts of the February 13, 2017 talk. This is a distinction that he, Mrs. Maria and I still laugh about every year or so.

However, this story from News Channel 5 and spread all across Dixie like the dew, has provoked me. As a former Knox County Public School Board Member, two decades ago, for those of you in lower Monroe County, that is 20 years ago. I must say that for Larry Arn, President of Hillsdale College to make comments about public education teachers in Tennessee in the manner he did, it must be refuted by the Governor.

In a state that has as few college graduates per citizens as Tennessee (an initiative that the former TN Governor Bill Haslam began to address) to make remarks that minimize the hard work, determination and commitment of our public school educators that work everyday to ensure the next generation is prepared for the future is demoralizing and just plain NOT Tennessee values.

I believe it is imperative of Governor Lee, Members of the TN State House and Senate to condemn Arn’s comments and to make a statement for Public School Educators. Let’s face it, some parents one value public education and have their children there and two many parents do not have the disposable income to invest in enriching the lives of Arn and his cronies in Charter or Voucher schools. I am not referring to Private schools. Only those those schools that want the government tit but not the government rules and regulations that go with sucking on the government tit.

Ok, I am done for a spell on this one.
