The Tennessee Senate State & Local Committee passed Senator Frank Niceley’s bill that will change City of Knoxville City Council district elections so that the top two in a district do not run in a citywide runoff.
Senators Jackson, Lowe, Pody, Stevens and Briggs voted in the affirmative. Senator Yarbro voted No. Senators Kyle and Walley passed and Senator Yager was absent.
